Today is National Old Stuff Day.
What? You didn’t know that was a thing?
Neither did we.
But apparently (according to the internet) – it’s a day to be nostalgic; look through old photographs, talk about happy memories and appreciate the things of the past.
It pretty much sounds like the Redroutemaster.com office every day.
All we do is talk about old stuff, look at old photographs and moan about present-day transport!
But in all seriousness – you have to adore things from the past.
That’s one of the reasons that we restore all our Routemaster buses to the highest possible standard.
We avoid modifications or botch jobs – all our parts are as original as we can get our hands on and we have the UK’s leading Routemaster mechanics working on each of our buses.
In fact, we’re just in the process of restoring “Danish” – one of our newer buses – he’s an RM1086.
“Danish” was built in 1962 (so he’s coming up for his 56th Birthday) but in 1987, he was transported to Denmark, where he’s been sat for 25 years.
He’s now back in the UK and currently going through a full restoration – he’ll be available to hire at some point this year.
He’s a truly stunning bus!
Have you had a look at the seven buses that we have on our website?
We’re just in the process of adding some more (just bought a beautiful Open Top bus).
